I looked on John Geiger's apprentice list and the name "John L.E. Boardman" does not show up there.

Having a difficult time understanding what this house has going for it to justify the designation beyond being "the first mid-century modern dwelling listed in Cape Girardeau County". Seems a bit weak ...

I think it's an interesting home, and MCM homes deserve placement on the Register. I would say it conforms to criteria for placement on the list:

Criterion C: "Design/Construction," concerns the distinctive characteristics of the building by its architecture and construction, including having great artistic value or being the work of a master.
Once again, the sin here might be invoking Wright's name when its actual designer deserves the recognition.
