Similar in appearance to Thorncrown Chapel, Cooper Chapel was built in Bella Vista in 1988. It recalls the "Prairie" style of architecture, made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright. Fay Jones was a pupil of Wright.
Besides the Faubus House, two other amazing Fay Jones homes I've had the pleasure to visit are the Parsons and Edmondson Houses - and should be included on any 'best-of' list regarding his work.
One of my favorite Jones (aside from 'most' favorite: Parsons) is the Calvin Bain House, featured in the October 1959 House Beautiful, pp 244-5, 298-9. It's an early house, not dominated by his signature stone so much, simpler and smaller than much of his later work. Sometimes the incessant stonework can be overwhelming.
The Conservancy is hosting the spring 2016 'Out and About Wright' event in NW Arkansas this year, focusing heavily on the work of E. Fay Jones. Join along and see the works of Jones and Wright in one weekend
