Thanks ! Nicely done. They might want to separate this petiton from (other) political choices, so as to uninhibitedly welcome everyone who might wish to support this nonpartisan effort. But that might not have been an option . . . ?

(That said, I'm certainly glad to see positions I support "seated at the table" with the Wright cause !)

Let's hope this has the desired effect. To lose a Wright property now -- and especially one of this unique character -- would be a national disgrace. That said, the "property rights" people will point to the choices made by previous owners of the house to secure its future, in this "every-man-for-himself" climate we seem to have arrived at . . .

I have signed the petition and forwarded it to 17 family and friends.

I think I was the 669th to sign! How fortifying to realize that the present threat has elicited such a wide outpouring of support.

Personally, I would say this building stands as an inestimable architectural treasure. Truly unique and irreplaceable, its importance as a cultural monument merits protection by any effective means, including a landmark and historic preservation designation.

Good for the Conservancy and those who have worked on this campaign to defend against the ravages of our national cultural barbarism that perceives this precious architectural gem as dispensable in the light of some potential monetary advantage to be gained from a subdivision of the real estate. (I didn't express that particular sentiment on the petition.)

I really wish that they would drop the option wherein two new houses may be built on the property - I don't really think that is a preservation victory, more of a sad compromise.
