Not one of his best, but still interesting. Seeing the exterior (these are horrible photos...) I expected more of the interior.

I enjoy looking at the architect's humblest creatures-in-residence first, sometimes . . .

It should be noted that the photo is pre- renovation / restoration.

I went out to look at the house yesterday. It is intriguing. It makes you wonder what is on the other side of that facade.
It looks like it could use some work. It is hard to tell if it is on its way up or on its way down.
The mailbox is fantastic!
Although he has attained a measure of recognition, Arthur Dyson remains one of the most overlooked architects of our time.

To be clear, Mr Leach is speaking of the subject house, not Fawcett -- I assume.

Perhaps, if we are to continue discussion of the Dyson design, a new source of images needs to be found ?

Thank you, Stephen. I was indeed, referring to the Dyson house. It is only about 6 miles from our Fresno house. It is located in an enclave that I was unaware existed. I'm not a Fresno native or even a long time resident, merely a frequent visitor.
I should make an effort to find all of the Dyson work that I can.
Fawcett is another matter. Because it is so exposed, it is difficult to view the house up close without becoming an intruder.

My favorite Dyson design is the Simpson house...I have the address at home..(and addresses of other Dyson works) I will email them to you. Art is perhaps the one living Architect whose work I admire most, plus he is a very nice guy.
This coming weekend the Fresno Art Museum (I believe) is sponsoring a tour of the Fawcett house. Includes bus from Fresno, tour guided by Art and his landscape architect, then wine tasting at Cru after...I think the whole package is around $130. A rare chance to see the finished product.

I went to a lecture and exhibit of drawings by Arthur Dyson some years ago in Chicago. I was blown away by how perfectly he had mastered what I call the Japanese illustration techniques that Wright and Howe used for their presentation drawings. They were all works of art or was that Works of Art!
