American System-Built Homes

Post by PrairieMod »

One of my cohorts made a post yesterday on www.prairiemod.com regarding the American System-Built Homes. We have been trying to uncover as much info as possible about these designs/homes, but there doesn't seem to be too much written about them. Does anyone know of a book or publications which have covered these in detail?

Thank you, if you can point us in the right direction.

I am on the board of "Wright in Wisconsin." We bought the Richards Small House and one of the four adjacent duplexes on W. Burnham Street in Milwaukee. Mike Lilek, our treasurer, has written about the American System-Built homes at:

Mark Hertzberg,

Do you have an E-Mail address?

I am doing research on Russell Barr Williamson. His time with Wright and his own practice.

I would like any ideas you would have on where to find research materials.

Excellent. Just bought a copy on ebay as well for the PrairieMod library.

Has anyone been inside any of these structures? Any details to share?

Mark Hertzberg - any specifics you can share about the architectural details, etc.?
