The Johnson Foundation has two architectural studies by Frank Lloyd

Wright, Grundriss Des Hauptgeschosses (outline of the main story), that

we will be putting up for auction. 1) Tafel XVIII Wohnhaus Im Vorort

Fur Herrn Tomas, Oak Park, IL. And 1) Tafel XVIII Wohnhaus Fur Herrn

Henderson Im Vorort, Elmhurst, Illinois, 1901. Image is 23" x 15",

matted and framed 30" x 22".



The appraised value is $30,000 for the two studies.

This notice has been disseminated to the board members of the Conservancy. Two persons have replied. John Eifler finds it curious that the Johnson Foundation would sell off part of its collection. Kathryn Smith has seen the items and says they are just prints from the portfolio which commonly sell for about $1500 apiece. She also notes that the condition is not pristine. Before bidding too much, make sure you know what you are getting.
