My two Maine Coon kitties, HipCat and Bebop, would like to add that they really enjoy living in the Fawcett house, although they find the waxed concrete floor slippery...

The first few weeks the barn owls would perch on a nearby branch and screech at them, so loud they would wakes us up in the middle of the night.

By far the most prevalent is Toxoplasmosis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasmosis
Up to 1/3 of the entire world's population is infected with the parasite. If you own a cat is it almost certain that you are infected. Normally it doesn't cause any symptoms after the first week (flu like ones for the week) but can badly affect those with immune diseases, and is fatal very rarely.
