I think I see HVAC registers coming out of the floor.
It would be nice to tuck some of those wires up under the cabinetry.

I have to ask, why is all the art hung so high?

I like the door in the bedroom. Too little attention is given to the design of doors, which should be as individual as the rest of the house.

The house is quite efficient to heat even with the tall ceilings in some areas. The combination of Mr. Wrights well thought out design, and some modern technology make a very comfortable and economical house, dare I say"green".

Operational clearstory windows, combined with wide overhangs are amazing. In the summer we leave the clearstory windows open, and combined with the prevailing winds the house really never gets to warm. The wide overhangs keep a lot of the solar gain out in the summer and allow just the opposite in the winter. Combine those Wright features with an R50 roofing system, energy efficient windows and a furnace fitted with a modern heat pump and you get a pretty efficient house. Just think what Wright could do now with today's technology. We lost power for 30 hours this winter and the house only dropped down to 57 degrees at the end. At the time outside temps were in the single digits.

The cork floors are plank and we installed them ourselves over about a four day period. The flooring was purchased from Eco Friendly Flooring in Madison WI. They were great people to work with and are highly recommended. http://www.ecofriendlyflooring.com/

We opted out of the radiant floor heating for 2 reasons. Having redundant systems was cost prohibitive. Even if we had the radiant system we still needed all of the duct work for the air conditioning system. In hindsight central air is not that much of an issue because house design. Second cork flooring is a great insulator, and having the radiant heat coils below the cork would not have worked to well.

The cypress was sourced through our lumber company, and originated from a mill in South Carolina. The more time I spent working with cypress the more I appreciated it. Every board is a new adventure.

Yup those wires are unsightly, my wife reminds me of that all of the time. The shelves were built with channels to hide the wires, I just need to take the time to feed the wires.

The art is at that level because those 2 pieces are centered on the tall walls. I guess it is just a matter of choice.

Nice work, guys...

I like the fact that you decided to have the shelves die into the brick at one end and into the wood wall at the other, without a visible end support piece. The cypress looks lovely...

I really like the SDR, because they build in the same feature. The design and layout are great because it takes a good combination.seo services

The speaker is covered up when the TV is being viewed? I'd never countenance such a design! Even though it hides the TV - TV's should be connected to stereo equipment - even with only two speakers it sounds superior.

And it does appear that the system is superior - I can't identify the speaker brand, but am I right in thinking it's a Linn-Sondek LP12 turntable? HOOOO-AAAH!

My only other comment would be that it can be very hard to watch TV with unshielded windows behind or above them (or indeed light shining on them.)

Saying that, what a superb look! And the craftmanship looks incredible!
