It is now even more affordable. Price is reduced to $699,000 for a no contingencies everything is included sale price. The home is move in ready and comes with FLW designed dining and coffee tables along with the form for the cement blocks.
At the original list price we a had a near full price offer and almost a 2nd of the same. However, apparently Michigan weather may not be so appealing to folks from south Florida. That getting back and forth to Miami conveniently is not as simple as one might think. For the other it was a spouse and how the west coast nightlife is more fun than a midwestern suburb. We also lost 8 potential buyers at that price because Kalamazoo has a zoning restriction in that area that does NOT allow short term rentals, so no AirBnB.
The feedback is always positive and they all agree with my statement that all it needs is aesthetic work. No leaks, no smells, no repairs required just move in, relax and enjoy the amazing home and your new circle of friends.

We're with you. I can't cite a more proactive, communicative and caring agent representing Wright properties. Fingers crossed for another appropriate new owner.

For full disclosure, what cosmetic improvements are contemplated . . .?

Thanks SDR. I have a 28 year relationship with some of these homes. I have been intimately involved with The Acres the most. At one time, I was what would be considered a personal assistant to Mrs. Weisblat. For about 3 years, up until her death, I spent a lot of time with her at the Weisblat house. Where I did a little work on the home here and there, helped write Christmas cards, scheduled appointments and so on. We talked a lot, she was a wonderful person. She told me a lot about her interactions with FLW, the Acres and some of the original owners. She has some disdain for how the kitchens were laid out. It was a great period in time and before I became a realtor. I sold Eppstein to the current owners and do property management for their AirBnB at Eppstein & Pratt so I am in those homes at least once a week.
As for McCartney, staining the interior block like they did at Eppstein would make the home look amazing. Redoing the glass panels at the kitchen sink and cleaning out in-between them would be next. Then refinishing of the exterior wood work on the patio. That would be about it. We have a couple of potential buyers actively reaching out to contractors about these things.

It is fun to see what happens with the passage of time. A previous owner was quite proud of the metal landscaping borders installed along the walls; I wasn't quite pleased with their wiggles---not doubt a product of slight variations in ground level, combined with too light a gauge of steel, causing/allowing them to waver ? So it's amusing and pleasing to read that the restoration having taken place since (what a list of accomplishments !!) included replacing those borders with something better . . .

When I saw McCartney decades ago, the roof, if I remember correctly, was partly red shingles over the bedroom wing and gray or brown(?) atop the living room. I assume that has been corrected?

We aim to please. Goodness knows I have countless unanswered questions, whose answers lie somewhere just out of reach.

Have I talked about a possible anomaly to the northeast wall of the Taliesin living-room ? Now there's a can of worms waiting to be opened . . .!

I think that "can of worms" has been opened and the worms have been set free.

It's great news, and nice to have some good new photos. (One hopes that readers of the article will know that the majority of the loose furniture pieces shown are not of Wright's design . . .)

He got a heck of deal, a one of a kind restored work of art, filled with history and access to 70 acres of private property.
Pratt is in good hands and will be well cared for. As for furniture, the built ins are original, the coffee table's are remakes. There are Wright designed chairs in the home that are not in the photos. The history of the Usonian homes at the Acres are very well documented and there are a lot of letters between FLW and the Pratts, same as with the Eppsteins.
By the way, Eppstein is back on the market for 2.1 million. Wright on the market will updated tomorrow.

As of yesterday at 4pm the McCartney house has new owners. A great couple that love Frank Lloyd Wright's work and they have already contacted the carpenter that did the work at Winn. I cannot wait to see this home in another year. This home has found the perfect couple that will take great care of it for the future.
