SF Field Office exhibit

Post by Pat Mahoney »

Here is an image of part of the Field Office exhibit at the Transportation Museum in Buffalo. The photo at left is of the model of the butterfly bridge. According to notes made by Aaron Green on the reverse Wright rendered over the photo with pencil.

The enameled panel from the original Walker house roof fascia in Carmel is on the drafting table. This photo was taken before the exhibit opened at the Conservancy conference last month.

In the photograph that Pat Mahoney has posted above, one of the objects in the display is the entrance door.

There are two FLlW red square tiles affixed back-to-back on the upper right corner of the glass lite in this door. (The exterior face of the left-handed door is observed in the orientation as displayed here.) I have posted mention of these tiles before and this regarding Pat's recent photo of the Buffalo exhibit on the thread devoted to that subject.

In Pat's photograph, the four-panel Japanese screen on the floor in the back was in the private office, and the object on the table in front of the screen is a bronze Japanese urn that was on an overhead ledge, placed so as to be visible mainly from the Reception Area.
