When planning the New York meeting for the Conservancy, the committee went to see the Cass House, and all concluded that it was such a mess that it would be a disaster hauling everyone out to Staten Island to see it. It's great to hear that it has been rescued. The remodelling of the kitchen is no problem; utility areas need periodic upgrading. That it is now in the hands of people who appreciate the architecture is all that matters.

I'll echo that. For all the stories lately of buildings being destroyed, it does something good to my brain to see that some are being saved.

Great article.
