I am fascinated by analysis of patterns in FLW's work which lead to an understanding of FLW's complex creative process. An absolutely wonderful, just published, book on this topic arrived today in my office. It is On and By Frank Lloyd Wright: A Primer of Architectural Principals editted by Robert McCarter, published by Phaidon in 2005. It has essays by my all-stars of critical Wright analysis, including: Robert McCarter, Werner Seligman, Colin Rowe, David Van Zanten, Kenneth Frampton, John sargent, Neil Levine, and Jonathan Lipman. The other essayists are excellent, but previously they were not on my radar screen.
