NOTE: pharding's message was somehow replaced with my response to his message. I have no idea how this happened, but I am looking into it. There was no intention to delete his message or post anything he didn't say under his name. I am at a loss to understand how this happened, but my apologies to pharding. What I quoted from his message was:

"...why is there not video images or photos to go with it."

First, I tried to respond to pharding's comment and question and for some reason, it replaced his entire message with mine. I have no idea how that happened, but it was certainly not my intention to delete anything. It also posted my message under his name. The only explanation I have is some sort of technical glitch. But I did not do anything that should have erased his previous message. My apologies for the problem. But to answer the query he asked...

"...why is there not video images or photos to go with it?"

Couple of things about this. First, there is a podcast that has slides with it. The opening remarks does. Second, there is a video podcast with some pictures of the Conservancy's tour and event venues. The latest podcast on the Weltzheimer house doesn't have any slides because I didn't have the powerpoint presentation from the presenter. As such, the video recorded view of the projection screen at the Conservancy just doesn't give a result acceptable for a video podcast. But I do have slides for several talks that will be included in future podcasts. As I said, I will try and add one new podcast per week or so as I have time to do them.

But additionally, the podcasts are meant to give people a preview of what is on the DVDs. Its not meant to necessarily be a free full audio/video version of the entire conference. Also, a lot of people still listen to audio podcasts and I wanted there to be a mix of audio, slide-content and video podcasts for the Conference podcasts. As such, audio podcasts are much more friendly to those running dial-up and slower speed connection as well as being better for a listening-based audience.

I am currently working on a podcasts from a presentation that I have the powerpoint slides for and it looks pretty good. So, if you don't like just-audio podcasts, stick around and a new video or slide content audio podcast is on its way.
