woohoo!! 06182024 I made it to the Lawrence Memorial Library s073
Took me 2 years but I was persistent and Scott the custodian met me at the Lawrence School which at the present time is closed and he escorted me to the Lawrence library room
To put it simply I was awestruck
click this link for a short video and pictures I'll post some more info later To put it bluntly I feel special to have stepped inside this room

Thank you so much for sharing your pics and video of your visit!

I don't recall seeing images of the room that fully captured it. It is understated and elegant. The room also gives some insight into how Wright's eye tied elements together, because the room was an existing space with doors, windows, and proportions not under Wright's control. Wright made it his own with carefully orchestrated actions.

Why weren't the gates included in the rebuild?

I don not know about a gate
However Scott did mention that the windows in that room are the original where as the other windows in the building have been swapped out with replacements
If you look on the table in one of my pics you can see a set of rolled up plans
Are those the original? The plans for the redo? I did not want to take up Scott's time and sit down and unroll and explore
In addition Scott had an info packet for each of us
I did the best I could and I scanned them
