The listing doesn't provide the architect. Some are speculating it is by Stricker, the best-known apprentice to work in the area.

Everything was fine until the white bedroom!

I don't presume to be well enough acquainted with Milton Stricker's work to be sure, but I have my doubts about this house being his work. The spindly brick supports of the carport don't look right.

My sense is that the carport supports are a more recent addition to prop up a sagging cantilever. Some other photos indicate a sagging roofline. I also am dubious that Stricker was involved in this design as his work typically has a lot more plaster walls and ceilings.

Matt, the supports must be either originals or replacements. There is no way that carport roof could have survived as a cantilever.

I'm sure you're right. That would be the longest cantilever in history.

It doesn't look like it would need a total of 6 to support it, though.....

Inside is very nice, not too dark like some homes with wood ceilings.

That carport needs to be torn down and redesigned. It does not flow with the rest of the place.

Obviously Daddy's little princess got her all-white bedroom and bath.

I agree with Roderick, this doesn't quite feel like a Stricker house... A good few years ago on Stricker's website, his book "Design Through Abstraction" was available for free on the site. I'm pretty sure there was a listing of the addresses of all the homes in the Seattle area that he designed. I recall googling a bunch of them and driving by. Can't say I remember one way or the other if there was Tacoma based work in there... Does anyone have his book handy?

That white bedroom and bath are so different from the rest of the house that I assume they were a later...and not very compatible...addition.
