Does anyone here have experience with Sansin SDF Exterior Stain or Vermont Natural Coatings Exterior Stain? Both are environmentally friendly. I am interested in which would be longer lasting and more durable.

I used TWP stain on our new house. Check it out.

you might try researching another stain called OSMO, which is an environmental friendly stain made from vegetable oils. The owner of the Jacobs House also has a house in Germany, where he learned of the product. We used it on a Keck and Keck House in Lake Forest and is performing quite well.

I Used the Vermont products on the exterior of the Beharka house. I used the Hydro Oil Primer first, then the Ligno Exterior stain over that. Looked good for about 6 months. After a few rains, it stopped beading up and was soaking into the wood. I wouldn't use it again for my exterior wood, but it might be better on new construction than porous old redwood and mahogany.
