For Sale! Two Frank Lloyd Wright Homes in their Original State Come as a Pair in Michigan, USA
Re: For Sale! Two Frank Lloyd Wright Homes in their Original State Come as a Pair in Michigan, USA
The article states the homes are in Kalamazoo, not Galesburg. Their original State is Michigan, but they have been restored. The Epstein house did have a change to its floor plan, not original. Did the Pratt house change from three bedroom to two bedroom? In what I’ve read I’m not sure. Reporting isn’t what it used to be. Not lies , but a paucity of truth

The Q & A in the Project Eppstein blogspot page is very informative. Did everyone catch the reference to Allback red linseed oil floor wax ?
I had not been aware that the Eppsteins built the house themselves.

Lots of great footage of the interiors of these two houses---helpful and inspiring for a Wrightian designer and cabinetmaker !

Pratt is impressive. When I saw it in the 80s, it was a horrid color, sort of dirty yellow, if memory serves. The interior was not very well done, either. Now it looks as it should. At the earlier time, Pratt was owned by a member of FLWBC. She was trying to sell it for about $300,000 but couldn't find a buyer.
