Here we go again with the "Lincoln" nonsense. If Tim Samuelson has proof of the name, get him to show it. The "L." alone isn't unequivocal proof.

The exhibit looks to be interesting, particularly with respect to light it may shine on Wright’s architectural relationship with Corwin. To use the term “mentor” is new and appropriate in my view.

If “Before the Lloyd” is limited to title blocks, I’ll play along, if it implies “Lincoln”, I’m not convinced.
In a long Chat thread of 2018, we chewed on the scholarship or not of that name. Brendan Gill seems to be the initial published source in his Many Masks book from the early 1990’s. For all of the end notes Gill provided, he did not cite his source for an alleged name change by Wright. Further in the thread, it was noted Gill made erroneous claims about Liliane Kaufmann’s cause of death, that were repeated by other subsequent authors, and disproven with Mrs. Kaufmann’s death certificate.

At this link, is a page in the Lincoln thread in which I note Ron McCrea, while researching his book about Taliesin1, found an 1880 US Census form for Wright’s uncle’s farm where 13-14 year old Wright was spending the summer. Young Frank gave his middle name as Lloyd.

Also, in that same census he was listed as living with his family in Richland Center. My sister found the double listing.
