Quietwater
Re: Quietwater
Here's a novelty: a plan annotated by the client !
https://library.artstor.org/#/asset/286 ... 2394833671
Among the first five drawings at Artstor (under the format of my query; see above) are plans with the center bedroom for Mr M, and none for her (?) and for two bedrooms, his and hers, separated by the living room, and with a guest bedroom in the middle and none for Mr M.
Whew . . .

Re: Quietwater
SDR - thanks for recollecting and reconnecting to the Morris thread.
Somehow Quitewater escaped me from the drama of the cliffs.

Re: Quietwater
Wow, a later drawing shows most––if not all––of LM's notes were worked into the plans.
Too bad there's a myth that Wright never listened to his clients' wishes.
I mean, you've got a cat room with a "cat run" and private cat doors??
Plus the 'signature' corner window was omitted in the bedroom, where it'd have the primo view??
Gotta love them narratives!
Also worth pointing out the roof scheme, with its flat and hipped combo.

Re: Quietwater
Yes. Perhaps the most uncommon part of the design is that assembly of concrete members making a partially glazed screen on the ocean side of the house, with a miniature of same framing a row of windows on the opposite side. I wish there was more than the single document showing this construction.
