New book on the Stewart House
Former owner of the G. Curtis Yelland House (1910), by Wm. Drummond
Re: New book on the Stewart House
It may be assumed from ample evidence that authors and others in charge of dispensing historic information are convinced that declaring an object---a building, in this case---as "the last of its kind" has universal appeal---whether that is the case, or not. The 1909 Stewart house in Montecito was not Wright's last Prairie house, as there are at least ten substantial hipped-roof residences in the canon, following Stewart and preceding the Henry Allen house of 1917.
Has anyone previously encountered the name Butterfly Wood applied to the Stewart house ?

Re: New book on the Stewart House
Has anyone heard news of the Stewart House's condition after the rains?

The reviews on Amazon are entertaining.
Looks like the book talks a lot about Wright's personal histrionics.
Melodrama is a point also for sales.
