I know this house has been referred to here previously but it is now on Airbnb. Looks like a really nice place, quality materials and one of Howe’s better designs. Great location for exploring the Arrowhead region of Minnesota.

$1200 a night is a bit above my price range, however.

Scrumptious!! The Lake District in MN is magnificent...and costly! When I was a young'un, having a summer cabin in the north was easily affordable, but now the prices are out of reach. Houses as big as this are commonplace, whereas in the 1950s they were mostly small, rough cabins like FLW's George Spencer house.

Another house for which it would be nice to have plans. I hope that the existing Howe monograph will not be the last record of the architect to be published; we could do with a lot more plan drawings of his work !
