Finally! I have been waiting for over 60 years to see more of this house than the single photo of the living room in a House Beautiful issue dedicated to FLW. I am not disappointed. Kamrath was a fine architect.

You couldn't pick out worse furniture for this home. Its a whole bowlful of wrong!

FYI, the most recent issue of the Journal of Organic Architecture + Design features the work of MacKie & Kamrath.

You got that right. Based on the furniture, a visitor might reasonably expect the host to show up in satin knickers with a periwig on his head. The furniture on its own is not at all bad, but totally out of place in this wonderful house. One definition of dirt is matter out of place.

An early photo of Schwarz taken from the balcony shows a Victorian chesterfield in the living room. Even some of FLW's clients had trouble furnishing their homes without his help.
