Tonight's PBS NewsHour ends with a visit to the Farmers' National Bank building. There's some good close-up photography of the red brick and rich green-glazed terra cotta embellishment, and interior views from novel angles. An architectural historian declares the building to be one of the ten best buildings in America. George Grant Elmslie is credited with the decoration of the building.

The segment is found in the last ten minutes of the show. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/why-a ... chitecture https://www.pbs.org/newshour/

A well made piece on the program.
A book from the 1980’s about the bank:

Another book from the 1980’s about this and the other late career banks by Sullivan:

The PBS NewsHour is having a "moment" with masters of Midwest architecture, it seems. Tonight's PBS News Weekend contains a segment on a new exhibit of Dale Chihuly's glass creations, said to be the first art exhibit to be held at Taleisin West.

While it may be true that the Chihuly exhibits might be the first such instances of an artist exhibiting at Taliesin West under the present administration ... in point of fact in the 1970's Mrs. Wright sponsored at least one exhibition at Taliesin West by a California artist The artist designed beautiful acrylic lucite sculpture ... and rings ... which were exhibited for about a month in the gallery. I still have one of his acrylic rings ... given to me by Mrs. Wright.
