Re: Article: "How to Fire Frank Lloyd Wright"
Considering how splendid the built version of her house ultimately became, Edith should have moved ahead. She would have ended up with more than she imagined possible. Though the $1,600/year salary was not nearly enough to pay for it.

Thus, your optimistic assessment is made moot in the end ? Folly--up with which Miss Carlson clearly would not put !!

A misleading headline....but great for page-clicks I'm sure.
The article is fascinating, though. I found myself empathetic to both parties... Ms. Carlson for putting her thoughts out there so directly. And Wright & co. having real patience with her.

Sorry to say this, but it quickly becomes more than apparent why Ms. Carlson, at age 39, was, and remained, a single woman, and probably why her mother changed her mind about living with her. Imagine having two unrelated, single. professional women living with her, too ... in that really rather tiny house, even though she expected their rent to help pay for the house.
Don't know about anyone else, but Frank Lloyd Wright house or not, I wouldn't have lasted a day.
