I had not. Arizona---Phoenix---Paradise Valley---the "camp"---as he saw them.

Note: in the 1962 issue the Wisconsin home is called Taliesin North. A construction photo of the Marin County Government Center (sic) reveals surprising roof framing of the County Library dome . . .

I was surprised and impressed by the number of steps apparently found necessary to properly present the scans for digital publication. "Do it once, do it right" is the watchword in any art or craft (not least in the practice of building) !

I don't find the letters section of the May 1974 issue; the entire issue seems dedicated to the subject of pottery, without other content including advertising. What did I miss ?

Ah---thanks, Dan. Another penny is dropped, into the wishing well that is the Arizona Biltmore story ?

I have not read a better appreciation of Frank Lloyd Wright than the one penned more than thirty years ago by Vernon Swaback. Granted that I have become more openly sentimental in recent years, I was brought close to tears near the end of his piece as the enormity of what Wright gave, and left, was evoked and described.

Every apprentice who has spoken has delivered a unique set of recollections and thoughts about time spent at Taliesin and with Mr Wright. Swaback's response to the experience, which like others began at a very young age, bridges for us the inevitable and inescapable chasm between those possessing some form of that experience, and those without. Paradoxically, the passage of time and the appearance, one by one, of these remembrances, brings us closer to, not further from, understanding who Wright was.

TWest 1940... a revelation to see more images of the time it was the desert camp intended. Interesting on the plan to see a "Senior wing" in the apprentice court, which designates lodging by name. Males anyway, the "girls" appear to have been bunked in tighter quarters!
