Most interesting. I wasn't aware that one could access past "issues" of Google Earth. How is that done ?

When you open GoogleEarth there is a tab at the top of the window with a clock wrapped with a counter clockwise arrow. Click on the tab and a sliding tab will appear with the available date ranges of aerial views.

This feature is in GoogleEarth only, not the satellite image in Google Maps which is just the most current view.

Another handy viewer is HistoricAerials.com which often has views in more developed regions dating back to the 1930’s.
