It is being reported that Kamal Amin, Apprentice for 18 years has passed away today at age 92. A man of great intellect, good humor and positive outlook on life. Kathryn and I stayed in his house, 'out back' on the T-W property several years ago. It was a great experience. Always a loyal foot soldier, In The Cause of Organic Architecture. May his soul be a rest.

I recently finished reading Mr. Amin's interesting memoir entitled "Reflections from the Shining Brow". It provides some good information about the Taliesin Fellowship during Wright's time and from 1959 through the late 1970s. Has his house at Taliesin West been featured in any publications?

I found this obituary for Mr. Amin during a Google search for TAA related items.

I hadn't known of his engineering background, just his work as an architect. The obituary notes Amin was involved with the engineering of the Elrod residence...the name is unique enough that I presume it to be THAT Elrod house.

I am quite certain it is "that" Elrod house. Also, I don't believe any of Kamal's work was independently published. There might be an example of his work included in various 'apprentice' compilations. Others more well versed can add in.
