Taliesin Table Lamp Plans ?
Taliesin Table Lamp Plans ?
I have being trying to find plans or blueprints for a Taliesin Table Lamp online. All i can find are dead links. Does anyone know of a source ? Thanks in advance, Paul
For all the discussion we've had here about the Taliesin table lamp . . .

. . . I recall not much if any word about drawings. The lamp seems to appear out of thin air, floating on a waft of inspiration from previous examples, each a copy, more or less, of the earliest one. Where that fixture (the bulb inside is the "lamp," technically) resides, I do not know.

Yamagiwa makes/made many of the lamps certified by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The measurements for the table lamp are:
Height: 20"
From back of post to front edge of shade: 16"
Wood base of shade: 14" square
Wood top of shade: 3-3/4" square
Vertical shade: 4-3/8"
Base of lamp: 10" square
Post, base, : wider element, 2" x 3/8"; 1-3/16" x 1"
Center of hanging fixture is 9" from back of post.
Distance between the uppermost points of the oblique supports of the shade: 4-5/32"
Width of wood shade supports: 3/4"
Other than the first 3 measurements, which are listed on the elevations, all measurements are estimated and may vary slightly.

Welcome Paul, try this link
Here are plans for the Taliesin table lamp. It's one of the most popular sets out there for woodworkers.

Do you mean the Storer lamp, or is there another lamp similar to the Storer lamp?

Yes, Storer was at least designed first. I don't know if the building of either one of them has been satisfactorily determined, although Freeman took a very long time, as the clients ran out of cash along the way. To confuse the thing further, while there were interior shots of Freeman published early on showing the lamps in place, I have never come across an early interior photo of Storer to verify what sort of lighting or furniture they had.
I can confirm the dimensions from my Yamagiwa lamp...SDR wrote:Where did your carefully-observed dimensions come from, Roderick, if it's not intrusive to ask . . . ?

Apparently this company down the road from the Rosenbaum House is now making the Taliesin lamps as special orders for the foundation. Interestingly, these are 24" in height vs. the 20" Yamagiwa, which must have been marketed originally as the "Mini" Taliesin Lamp. The proportions of the "Mini" are more appropriate to my eye.
