First and best. Thorncrown Chapel is like the Jacobs I Usonian, a type in its earliest iteration, lyric in its simplicity, and superior by degrees to later examples.

I hadn't previously noticed the slope of the site---asymmetrical drama in contrast to the symmetrical volume of the structure.

The specially-fabricated strap which produces the "empty" intersection of those internal trusses (?) has quite long legs:
