Excellent documentary. The view up from the floor of Guggenheim to the skylight is enhanced by the presence of Calder mobiles, of which there should be a permanent display.

Calder's work, much of it anyway, could be said to abstractions of botanical life, in a way correspondent to Wright's abstractions of nature. If Wright had made mobiles and stabiles, we can be sure they would have been composed of straight lines, and arcs or circles. As a youthful mobile-maker I soon learned that it's a lot harder to balance a straight bar than a curved one . . . !
