LOTS of good photos of the house, here. Did we ever before get a proper peek at the utility shed and woodshed ? What do we know about them ?

The utility shed was designed by John Eifler as part of the rehabilitation of the site. It flanks the guest parking area and stores canoe paddles, life jackets, and other outdoor supplies for which there is no room in the cottage. The wood screen wall marries the storage "box" with the landscape and serves to screen a propane fuel tank. The board and batten detailing of the access door neatly maintains the clean lines without interruption. The shed is well daylighted and it relates nicely to the cottage without competing for attention.

Nice. And the woodshed is its baby brother ? These, and the new chairs in the house, also by Eifler, represent the best of a playful yet serious latter-day furnishing of a Wright building.

The creative restoration architect should enjoy his work; joy is the necessary ingredient in any endeavor.
