The Smith House plan has always puzzled me. The "front" door seems redundant, since there is a door into the same vestibule just around the corner under the protection of the porte cochere, while the exposed front door is at the base of a planter outside the windows of the stair landing. I suspect Richards altered the plan to make it more saleable? I don't believe FLW put the door there originally. Other than that, which I would change if I had the opportunity, it's a fine piece of work, especially for a modestly priced house, although it would appear the original owner did some upgrades.
Seeing the Adams House should be a treat. So unlike FLW, yet very handsome, at least from what has been published.
At 2:31, Margot Holland implies that the large house behind her is a FLW design, which it definitely is not. See 2:56. Looks more like something Maher might have done.
