the 3 in Canton are visible from the street, although the lots have a fair amount of trees so you don't get a 100% clear view.

The Weltzheimer house in Oberlin is visible from multiple angles and is open to the public for tours in warmer months: http://www.oberlin.edu/amam/flwright.html. I had full access to the exterior last December, but of course no interior access.

I have no experience with the other two houses

You may want to add Mosher in Wellington to your list if time permits - fully viewable from all sides. unofficial info: http://www.flwright.us/FLW092.htm

Penfield is very hidden from view due to trees. Only the red gate with grey brick and long driveway are easy to see. The traffic on River Road near the I-90 overpass can be moderate.

Staley is very easily seen from the road and is close to the intersection of Red Bird and Lake Road West. It is quite a gorgeous sight to see and is in a very quiet neighborhood.

The Feiman and Rubin homes are about a minute from each other with Dobkins not far away from the other Canton homes. The Weltzheimer-Johnson and Mosher homes are sort of close. Definitely check into the Weltzheimer-Johnson tour schedule and try to get a look inside. Mosher is a little drive but worth the view.

Just keep in the back of your mind that these are all in residential areas (aside from Mosher) and are privately owned. Respect the owners and neighbors privacy. As a courtesy you should probably keep it to a rolling stop unless you have set up a scheduled tour.

Ohio FLW Visit

The Weltzheimer House is closed until April. but is visible for a walk around. The driveway off of Woodhaven Place, puts you right next to the house. The original approach is from Morgan Street.

I am a docent at the house and believe access to the interior could be arranged through the Allen Memorial Art Museum. Mention that we corresponded. If we can set a specific time and date, I probably could meet you there.

Don't forget about the Westcott House in Springfield. That is visible from the street.

Wright in Ohio

The Westcott House does not seem to close for the winter, as tours are posted on their website. It is a wonderful restoration of an earlier Wright design. It is about 2 hours from Cleveland.

When in Cleveland, stop by the Cleveland Museum of Art. One of the windows from the Darwin Martin house is in the collection.

Also of interest to Wright fans should be the Memorial Arch on Tappan Square in Oberlin, designed by Silsbee. (Also Wilder Hall on campus was design by him).

ScottCLE's comments regarding owners sensitivities about privacy reminds me of an earlier thread containing a prickly exchange involving the owner of the Feiman House and site-seers interest in his property:

If it's possible to stay at the Penfield house I would do it, but ScottCLE is right: you can only see the gate for the Penfield from the road.

If you were to stay overnight there (they require 2 nights rental), make sure to close that gate or you'll have my experience: someone knocking on the door at 10 a.m. I behaved pretty well & only have myself to blame for leaving the gate open. Thankfully I was dressed (but didn't invite the man inside).
