Complete guide to work of FLW
I have this book:
The Frank Lloyd Wright Companion by William Allin Storrer http://amzn.to/2hkehEf
This book looks to accomplish roughly the same thing:
The Vision of Frank Lloyd Wright: A complet... by Thomas A. Heinz for $23.52 http://amzn.to/2inak3
And it was well reviewed (only 16 reviewers).
I am curious. The internet is 20+ years old. Are there any real good online resources. How about a cool APP that lists all the structures, ties to Google earth/ maps and shows the content like the Storrer book. (It seems like this could be open sourced.)

Well, there is this app:
Wright Guide by Azara Apps
https://appsto.re/us/Pa9bw.i
It is based on Storrer, has map integration so it is helpful when traveling.

I have both. The Companion is a hardbound reference, whereas the Catalog is more of a guide for use on the road, although personally I prefer Thomas Heinz's Field Guide when traveling.SDR wrote:So, Storrer has both a Guide (the "Companion") and a Catalog, according to Amazon listings. The catalog lacks only Storrer's indispensable floor plans, according to one review . . .

As for resources, I'll humbly submit this Google Map I made a couple of years ago to help me map my trips. It has all of the Wright sites, along with the Storrer "debatables". There's also a layer you can toggle with all the lost Wrights.

Yes, it was a thin green paperback. I have not seen it for sale for many years. Probably out-of-date by now.Roderick Grant wrote:Storrer also published a booklet of maps. I bought one directly from him at the last of Tom Monahan's seminars, but I have never seen it in book stores.
The FIELD GUIDE by Heinz contains maps to the sites.
The WRIGHT GUIDE app will provide directions from your present location to specific Wright buildings and others nearby. You can also sort Wright's buildings in various ways: by State, by Date, etc. You can also annotate each site with the date of your visit.

A periodic new edition of any guide makes sense, as there can be additions or subtractions, as well as changes to the information about the various structures. I know the Conservancy is currently updating the Wright Sites guide for release later this year.
