A previous Owner filled in part of the ravine to create a small lawn which was unfortunate. The current owner plans to put the ravine topography back to the original state.

The grading on the NW side of the house was altered to provide a flat lawn area. It previously dropped away to the adjacent ravine. The plan is to restore the slope.

The stairway adjacent to the kitchen is still there. The other one has been removed.

That roof overhang outside the living-room windows (the room would be even more spectacular if that was a window wall such as we see at Robie ?) must be the broadest of Wright's career . . .

Likewise, the octagonal spaces (upper and lower) might have been better lighted via fenestration. Perhaps the commission occurred too early in Wright's career, in this regard ? Nevertheless, the house is wonderful, and in wonderful condition. What a feast . . .
