# 3 Dobkins ... But inside? Wow! Where are the original Wright dining chairs? That was the first question I asked 11 years ago when my wife and I toured the home with a realtor. The Dobkins daughter-in-law, in the workspace brewing tea, explained how her father-in-law felt so uncomfortable using the...

I missed identified the first image by Ogai. My Hagan attribution is in correct.
Does anyone know the house that the signature tile belongs to? Is it possibly the Lovness?

rooms have been dressed...minimal clutter so you can get a impression of the space with little distraction. Thank the owners who undoubtedly let the photographer clear out all their personal stuff. Juregan Ogai did not remove any objects or clutter. Plus he did not cheat a rug or object in any dire...

The main living space coffee table is not original. I believe It is fabricated out of stone. A marble or granite??
It is not painted wood to match the fabric of the built in settle.
Who knows who designed it?

The fireplace which shows carbon smoke above it I believe is the Grant residence not the Elam.

This has to be a first. An article or two, along with pictures of an addition on a FLLW building and no comments from the Wright chat community. Not a positive, or negative jab. Not even a neutral stand. What is happening? Perhaps everyone is still digesting turkey meals. Oh well, guess I'll go for ...

SDR,
You might be on to something. The serifed and non serifed type does have something in common with the stamp. But as you can see this drawing is signed F.LL.W and not F.L.

This seal is a joke.
When did Wright ever sign his name Frank Lloyd ?
I believe this seal belonged to an individual with a last name starting with a L.
And the type face is such that it clearly does not fit in with Wright's very well known aesthetic.

Buyer beware.

The complete works of Frank Lloyd Wright with text by Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer is a new work. My understanding is that the text was written a number of years ago 2001-2002. At that time they decided not to move forward with the production, for reasons that are unclear. Taschen is now moving forward. It...

Also the type of gravel used is important. It was reported that Mr. Weltzheimer made a substitute using a slag (instead of gravel, specified by Wright) the slag was like a gravel but it was not stone, but an end product of the iron ore process. It was by no means ph neutral but tested very acidic. e...

All the 3 houses in Canton, Ohio used cast iron. And all were built after the Pleasantville usonians. The success or failure of the pipes had to do with installation and not much with the materials used. The pipes contact or lack of contact with or embedded in cement seem to have been the reason of ...
