... unadulterated by his own aesthetic. Better apprentices and employees include William Drummond, Aaron Green, Jack Howe, John DeKoven Hill, Robert Beharka, and any others who subordinated their own creative impulses while working for FLW. On his own, RMS was as creative as FLW, but in his own, ...

The town of Ladue kept this Fellow busy !

The interior woodwork at Simms (except for the bathroom) appears unfinished. Neat trick.

Pinckney has the quality of Bob Beharka's own house, doesn't it . . . tall and compact, spatially complex.

... one of his finest works. Bernoudy was one of those 50s architects with FLW connection that Elizabeth Gordon published from time to time. Not up to Beharka (especially the late work), but close. They share a simiplicity that is refreshing; so many apprentices' designs were over the top, but never ...

Beharka designed house for sale

I can't remember if I posted this before...if not, here is a Bob Beharka designed house for sale here in Los Banos. All original, beautiful larger house on 8.5 acres. Built in 1969 for a family in the dairy biz. Lots of built-ins, lovely views of Los Banos ...

... doubt at the same time that the hexagonal tile was installed on the kitchen floor and the house interior was painted a pinkish color. I'm sure Bob Beharka was consulted to some degree on all of these matters, but apparently there were pressures he could not overcome towards accomplishing certain ...

The issue of structure brings me back to Bob Beharka. We've already seen this photo of a completed lamp: http://sdrdesign.com/TalLampBeharka.jpg It appears from this photo that Bob inserted his fabric shade quadrants from above, rather than below. ...

... happy to have ours be structurally sound, though in the case of its location, it would be preferable if it were crafted from redwood like Kevin's Beharka interpretation.

Bob Beharka was quite the gift giver...he made many things specifically to be given away as gifts, lovely ceramic tile trivets or trays with mahogany frames, weed holders made from copper pipe with a triangular base all painted ...

... Francisco was 2003. The only Wright site that was not open for tours was Mathews house. We gave tours of some of Aaron's houses, and one of Bob Beharka's. The nice part of that conference was that some of the original clients were still with us, The Buehlers, Buck Fawcett, Mrs. Frank, Gloria ...

I first learned of Bartholomew in the October 1959 issue of HB....there was a pretty sizable spread on it, complete with a plan. It was right triangle (45/45/90) based. There were other houses by Green in the issue, as well as houses by Besinger, Hill, Bernoudy, Jones, and I think Beharka.

A young Bob Beharka to FLW: "Mr. Wright, if a client cannot afford piano hinges, what would be an acceptable alternative?"
FLW: "Pieces of piano hinges."
