Restoring a Cherokee red concrete floor !

Hello, kevin, I finally purchased some mahogany tinted paste wax to try on the Beharka house floors. The floors although in good shape, have not had much done to them in many years. I have started in the kitchen where the floors are the most worn and have hard ...

A question for chatter KevinW:

Would you say the Bob Beharka designed house that you own was influenced by the Erdman Prefab #2?

If so, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts of the similarities and differences between them....

Bob Beharka and John Geiger are two others. Geiger was in the Navy during WWII, but worked as a mechanic on some South Pacific island, and never saw combat duty. But considering today's toxic, sanctimonious culture, that may ...

So, let's review other Taliesin Lamps we've seen. First, a lamp constructed by Bob Beharka: http://sdrdesign.com/TalLampBeharka.jpg Then, a Bexley Heath lamp: http://sdrdesign.com/TalLampBexleyHeath.jpg And, a lamp at the Lewis residence: http://sdrdesign.com/TalLampLewis1.jpg ...

Bob Beharka, Allen Gelbin, Aaron Green, Earl Nisbet, and several other quality apprentices have created smaller homes that I think are Usonian, although not one of them ever referred them as such. Some of these apprentice designs ...

Heh. Maybe. Would you object to a community composed entirely of Wright, Howe, Dow, and Beharka-designed homes ?

Oh my, what a little sweetheart of a home. Perhaps another who could make very simple, very beautiful like Bob Beharka could. What more could anyone want or need. Thanks for sharing. This made my day!

I continue to be very pleased with the results with the Vermont Natural Coatings products on the Beharka house. Might be worth a look..and with being extremely low VOC, and how drafty houses like these tend to be, no toxic off gases was a huge plus.
Just my 2 cents..

... but I think it was for the opportunity to fully experience everything Taliesin had to offer, and he was far too gracious to say no to Olga. Bob Beharka made every effort to stay busy with building, and didn't much get involved with non Architecture related activities. I can't picture Bob belting ...

Much appreciated

... I have by hand corrected the date fields where necessary, and may have missed a few. Turns out that John did not enter the death date for Bob Beharka (John was just starting his radiation treatment when Bob died), in another column, and that lapse dropped the dates you mention. I will fix ...

The reason for my comment is that I noticed that Bob Beharka was listed only for 1954 through 1955. Between 1955 and 1961 he was supervising construction of Llewellyn Wright, Marden and Fawcett houses, leaving the fellowship after Fawcett was complete ...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562383@N03/albums/72157672913629903 The exterior wood is done, finally. We started using Sikkens on the fascia and deck. We applied the Sikkens at the windows and spandrel panels in a small section and the odors of the solvents were just too strong. It took about a mo...
