Not all soils can get the solid compaction as that in the Arizona desert, with the use of a form and a sledge hammer, Bob Beharka was to dry pack his desert shelter blocks with impressive strength. Interesting note, obviously the plan was to get significant compaction for the floors.

What sets Milton apart from most other apprentices (though Beharka must be included) is his elegant simplicity. The influence of Japanese aesthetic is obvious, too. I have been in this house; it is sublime.
