Just because they are "they are" (or might be) "the intellectual property of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and are protected by copyright laws" does not deprive them of any value, nor does it imply they cannot be sold. I'm willing to bet they have quite a bit of value. Those...

Nothing. Blueprints are not considered collectible. Furthermore they are the intellectual property of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and are protected by copyright laws. Sorry.

What it will take to salvage the FLW School of Architecture

The Foundation needs to discard the antiquated, incestuous policy with regard to hiring of faculty if it is serious to turning the school around. Just hire top flight educators that will attract students interested in a quality education. It is critical to hire talented faculty that understand the d...

... The text, however, contains a lot of errors. Bruce has done a fine job as curator of the archives, but he is no architectural historian by any means. For example. The title of one project, page 138, that I researched extensively because it relates the Davenport House Restoration in Brooks' text...

Commentary on the 12 volume monograph

The 12 volume monograph is absolutely the finest book/set of books on Frank Lloyd Wright. It is a wealth of information. The design and technical drawings are an unmatched source of information about his built and unbuilt work. I found the technical drawings to be of enormous interest. It showed how...

I have been told that the contractor talked the owner into finishing the wood with a very shiny gloss finish. This apparently is not historically accurate and looks odd with unwanted reflections of light bouncing around.

I wonder if you get all the restored stained glass windows with it. They must have spent a few million just doing all of those. The artglass windows run approximately $2,000 per unit for artglass and wood window restoration using an experienced FLW artglass restoration company and a quality window ...

FYI, I recently saw what appeared to be all 12 volumes in their shipping boxes, etc. available at Hennessey & Ingalls in Santa Monica, CA. Curious, what were they asking for the set? I called today about that set. It is an excellent set with dustjackets aand slipcases for $8,800. William Stout ...

Re: Taliesin Architects

Perhaps there really are changes afoot at the FLLW Foundation: Will Bruder is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the "Doing more with Less" Fall conference next month at Taliesin West! Will Bruder is a fine architect who understands and builds buildings using the principles of FLW as ...

I find it interesting that several seem to think FLLW was wrong when he referred to Wingspread as the last prairie house. But, I guess there are some on this site that know more about FLLW's architecture than FLLW did. As far as I'm concerned if FLLW said Wingspread was a prairie style, then who am...

I cast my vote for the Allen House as the last Prairie House. I do not see how one can call Wingspread a Prairie House.

I just got back from the FLW Conference in LA. Technical experts there were emphatic about not sealing concrete block. Please do not seal the concrete block. Trapped moisture will ruin the block with time.

Prairie Houses

First three are Bradley, Warren Hickox, Davenport. You can get the rest after these from Storrer's Frank Lloyd Wright Companion.
