Thank you all for your kind words! Chad and I are very happy with the result. SDR: The brick used in the fireplace, come from photographs taken at the Robie house As an anecdote, in my work as an architect, I once tried to convince the builder to color the mortar between the bricks in the same way t...

Foundation Archives: architectural drawings, 1885-1959

Now we can consult a list that specifies how many drawings made by FLLW exist for each project: https://findingaids.library.columbia.edu/staging/ead/nnc-a/ldpd_12471376/summary We'll know exactly how many drawings we need to have the complete puzzle of a project and it is also possible to see the dr...

https://www.loc.gov/exhibits/flw/images/flw0105x.jpg I've always wondered about the waterfall; there is no water anywhere near the summit of Sugarloaf, and certainly not enough to make a big waterfall anywhere on the mountain. So, if Wright really wanted a waterfall, the water would have had to be ...

I was surprised to learn of a second Wetmore project. Perhaps the fact that the Monograph text doesn't specify (other than in the heading "Project") that the garage was an unbuilt Wright design, has led some to visit the site ? Thanks SDR, I didn´t know these drawings. Finally Wetmore ...

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unbuilt Predecessor to the Guggenheim Museum Comes to Life David Thanks David! In this publication you can see some images not seen so far, such as the interior of the planetarium. One detail that may be controversial in these images is the fact that FLLW never drew seat...

:-)

I've never tried it myself since I usually model buildings that do not exist, but it can be useful to scan, for example, the existing surrounding buildings of a project.

It's a subject to explore that I have stuck on my to-do list (A long list I am afraid)

You could never adequately recreate a three-dimensional object from a single photo. I don't know how many photos you would need to make a correct model from them; perhaps a few as three birds-eye views ? SDR It is possible to "scan" a building (or anything else) by taking pictures around ...

Thank you very much DNR, I didn't know that information about Packard. On another project I've been working on, Valley National Bank, I was surprised by the idea that Wright used exposed aggregate concrete in this design, because I didn't remember that he used this material in any other design, but ...

Do I dare say that image 4/9 should have Packards on display rather than "Tri-Five" Chevys? In any case, the new models of the Gordon Strong Objective, SF Butterfly Bridge, and the Packard dealership are great to see.....more images of these new models would be better! The car dealership ...

Thanks j_f for pointing out the inaccuracy of the fireplace in my model, I will take it into account.
