SDR, perhaps she meant Fred Lloyd? Or as a dealer in shop once told me as I questioned his sketchy attribution of a chair to a well-known and well-documented designer, "Well, who else could it be?" Who else indeed!

It's $158
Yes and if you look at the preview there are only small amounts of text with huge areas of white around them. I have created books on these type of self-publishing sites. They do not cost this much to produce for sale.

SDR, that is what I was asking. Why build a house in 2003 only to want it moved off the land 15 years later? It seems hard to believe land in Spring Green would be that much in demand or not readily available otherwise.

Curious as to what happened to the kitchen? The entire house now reads as a great studio space for some creative activity. That bathroom renovation is tragic. it appears to be done by someone who thought the rest of the house was the garage.

Acorn House for Sale | Spring Green | Stephen Nemtin

Not a great deal of information. It's unclear why a house built in 2003 would already need work and have to be moved from its site.

FLW actually signed off on the art glass windows...
Roderick,

He may have signed off on them (to shut up Mabel and get paid?) but it's my understanding he designed glass patterns that were more rectilinear and aligned to the block lines. Aren't these what we see in one of SDR's posted images?

I hope I live to see those marble floors replaced and that chandelier gone. I've come to accept the inappropriate stained glass windows.

Thanks for the heads up. So sorry I missed this journal. The sample cover plus sample pictures alone reveal the need for a true monograph of his entire career. I will keep searching the secondary market with fingers crossed.

Personally I'd rather see the actual architectural designs rather than the box projects but I guess this is a start.

Reminds me what Margo Channing (Bette Davis) once said in All About Eve, "I'll admit I may have seen better days... but I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail, like a salted peanut..."

Minor gripes: The painted floors bother me. I wondered why the decision was made not to refinish them? The scale of the furniture is off. The exterior yellow seems harsh.

On a positive note, the house was literally brought back from the brink of death. Restoring the copper roof = A+.
