According to the seller: I can tell you how I happen to own this stool. Over 30 years ago I bought the Raymond Carlson house from Raymond in Phoenix AZ,with its contents. When I remodel it I moved all the furniture to storage. Some how this stool, there were three of them, didn't make it back to the...

Compare the sloppy windows the the famous Wright touch of the clean mitered window. Well, you could argue about the cost of such detailing. As is well known, Wright didn't let something as mundane as a client's budget get in the way of creating architecture. Even his supposedly low-cost homes typic...

I was lucky enough to have toured the house when it was once open to the public. It's been downhill since then. Both USC and natural disasters can share the blame equally. I'm sure that if Harriet Freeman could see the state of the house now she would never have given it to the school. Now take a lo...

The only building that I am aware of that used these products during their limited run is the Price Tower. Both fabrics and furniture were chosen by either Price and/or Wright for at least the family apartment. (A long, but interesting read)

Seems like conflicting information. As architecture I find the house to be simply stunning (unlike some others posting here). As real estate, well, it is location, location, location. I do find it almost unbelievable that this house has been on the market for 3 years and that it sits unlocked even a...

The Getty has quite an archive of letters between FLW and Schindler from the 1920s. Included in this group are some concerning the Lowes house. http://content.cdlib.org/view?docId=tf796nb1zw&chunk.id=dsc-1.7.6&brand=oac Here is the description, " A file of eight letters between Wright a...

The current owner has restored other historic houses in LA, including one other Schindler designed house. His research and attention to detail are painstaking. One example, he has gone so far as to reproduce the original Schindler designed linoleum for the How kitchen floor. We are used to seeing th...

Thanks for all the ideas and clarification. I do believe we are booked into Room 111 and I am really happy to be on such a high floor in the tower.

Does anyone know if the original apartments still have their kitchens as hotel suites? If not, how is the original kitchen space being used?

Thanks all for the suggestions. I do realize that Bartlesville is a small town which gives me more of an excuse to just hang around the Tower. I did also find the Bruce Goff guide and have purchased one. I have high hopes (no pun intended) for the visit. I stopped by once ten years ago on a cross-co...

I also have never seen any books published on Howe. I have spoken to a Howe client who built 3 Howe designed houses. Let's see... So if no books have been written on an architect, his/her work is no good? What an interesting perspective. Also, this client had Howe design not one, but THREE houses f...
