Mr. Wright, if you (hypothetically) agreed to design a house which required you to omit a traditional fireplace, what approach might you take? Would you look to replace the "hearth" with some different kind of centerpiece in the great room? (This question I was actually considering posting...

There's the Wes Peters/TAA designed Bartlesville Community Center, across the street from the Price Tower.

Lloyd Wright was involved in the early designs of the Hollywood Bowl, if that counts....

Originally four were built on a quadrant. Two got demolished....
Perhaps they can be submitted for recognition from the official foundation of "Cool Little Moderate Housing Designs for Suburban America".

I saw this floor plan by WW a couple weeks ago: https://www.instagram.com/p/BeCcTctH5rI/ Seems like a great little concept. Does anyone know more about it? I found a fairly current listing for one of the units: http://www.paulkaplanrealtor.com/listing/17199860ps-53965-avenida-obregon-la-quinta-ca-92...

Well, Mudede is nearing 50 years old, fyi.... I don't have much trouble divorcing the artwork from the artist. My thought is that artists give their works to the society, and those works then become the domain of the user, not the creator... And even if its difficult detaching the artwork from the a...

When I lived in Seattle, the Stranger was an ongoing butt-of-the-joke for many of us... It's an 'alternative weekly' paper, with some major egos trying to outdo each other, daily, for holier-than-thou status. Often you'd see their writers engaged in acts of "punching-up", as in, taking bro...

Was trying to find some info on the Euchtman house, and threw the address into Redfin hoping to find the square footage.... What came up was a sold-listing with a number of interior photos (which readers of this site may or may not want to see): https://www.redfin.com/MD/Baltimore/6807-Cross-Country...

Do the Suntop Homes count as Usonians? And would they tally 1 or 4? Also curious if discussing strictly Wright designs, or apprentices and admiring architects as well? In my opinion, there are many excellent "Usonians" that weren't designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. (Which seems the most impr...

Enter the park through Grand Army Plaza, and walk through Endale Arch, as it leads you into the Long Meadow.... There's a restaurant/hotel company in the Pacific Northwest called McMenamins, who buy up old buildings and repurpose them. Their early 20th century public-schools-turned-hotels are a lot of fun. Here's an example: https://www.google.com/search?biw=1398&bih=776&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=mcmena...

As I understand it, many of the larger countries have multi-payer systems (like Germany), which is an integrated private and public approach. I'm good with whatever works, personally, but the Medicare-for-All that Bernie runs on is a government-only plan. In practical terms, it'd be a very expensive...

phrases like "we're not Denmark, we're not Switzerland" Since the Bernie campaign, I've been skeptical about the progressive mantra of Medicare-for-All, which then points to these European countries. There is some merit to the idea that we shouldn't be quick with comparisons--- these coun...
