I am posting a few pictures of the conference on my Flickr site. I have tons of shots that will appear on conference video package, but you can get a taste here. These pictures thus far are of the open night reception venue at the art deco Guardian Building in downtown Detroit. A great time was had ...

I have been wondering when someone was going to do this. The new FPS graphics engines are finally good enough to really create an immersive environment with lighting and textures. Excellent.

Phillip Johnson is so devoid and class and dignity, its no surprise he's an emperor without any clothes when it comes to architecture. He couldn't design even a mildly pleasing space even if Frank Lloyd Wright came riding in on a white horse, got off the horse and hit Johnson in the ass with a banjo!

Yes, I saw it and strangely enough, only once also. Amazing what digital imaging can do these days. But what's realistic are the Philistines that would certainly tear down anything needing money to fix up or build, even if others classify it as a masterwork. I like BMW's pitch. While the ad is direc...

The Westcott house is not painted white, but its close. Actually, its not painted at all. What you see is a final coat of pigmented stucco. Its a very light cream-like color, but again, its not white. Detailed preservation professional analysis of the original final stucco coat (which still existed ...

The house was built in 1907-1908 and the Westcott family lived there until the mid 1920's. The local radio club had been working for three years with Westcott House Foundation on various events for integrating possible tourism programming into the house. I was one of the original members of the West...

Westcott Radio Exhibit Video / Exhibit For Sale

The 1920's rotary spark gap radio exhibit that was to go in the Westcott house is now up for sale. John Westcott built and used a radio like this in the Westcott house. For political reasons, the Westcott House Foundation reneged at the 11th hour on its agreement to have the exhibits and the radio c...

I have seen some pictures of the damage. It looks pretty bad. The roof is gone and the interior has to be pretty badly burned also. I will let the experts make final judgement, but I wouldn't be optimistic about it.

Your best bet woudl be to contact John Thorpe through the FLWBC, as he has restored so many Prairie homes of Wright's, he knows a lot about students and what they wroked on. Also, you might contact Margo or Bruce at Taliesin West. They know a lot about various Wright student and what they did.
