I've got it! I'll ship my two Eames chairs and ottomans to DRN, let them "live" in a Wright house for a year. Take pics, etc., make copies of the plans, then put them up on Ebay for $250K, purchase two new ones for myself, buy back all the missing Sweeton furniture and give those back to D...

A review of the DS as only James May can do. The Goddess.

Always wanted one. Would have been more odd though better than the 1968 Rover 2000 TC I once drove.

Yes, it is a '52 Chrysler New Yorker. The split windscreen differentiates it from the others. It looks to be a convertible as well.

Somewhere in my books, there's a drawing of Wright's of a car design with cantilevers on the sides and back window area. SDR?

Car crazy too!

I read somewhere that Lautner "walked-away" from this mess. Dolores making ch-ch-ch-changes before and during and perhaps after? If you hire a great or even a good architect, let him or her run with it. As long as the brief is solid, let the designer do the job for YOU. No one needs a 50 m...

Yes, would love to see a plan. What a beautiful compact design. The Paul house looks to be on a 4' X 4' parallelogram? I was comparing the early images from Aaron Green's website to those in the listing site. It looks to be in very good and unaltered condition. View from Google Maps: http://tinyurl....

dtc,

What a magical house. I know it gives you much joy year-in and year-out. It's perhaps one of the most livable Wright spaces I've ever been in.

I hate, but sometimes use the term "happy accidents" but there they are dancing around. No denying it.

Roderick, I just finished this book. David Henken (Priscilla's husband) was constantly on "boiler duty". It must have been very cold that winter (still are I suspect). Priscilla's keen observations of "the Queen" are rather telling. She must have been one of the better cooks by t...

[His comments about the owners were not complimentary.]

I can only imagine. This story that proves to be a ever-growing nightmare is becoming much too much. I don't get it.

Mr Sells is not a salesman. He is a detached idiot, that has no clue.

m.perrino,
That would have been a neat gig to attend. Max is a great drummer who makes it look so easy with his relaxed, but spot-on technique.

A nice round drum kit of his choice would look (and sound) very good in Phoenix! :D

I'm planning to visit the exhibit this weekend. One of my art teacher colleagues liked it, yet thought it a "scattershot" collection as does the Star-Telegram reviewer. She brought me a copy of the brochure that features a die cut window to match the clerestory perfs. Printed on very nice ...

I can see Sweeton turned into a workshop once again? It must pain you DRN, to see these "parts" sold off with no regard to the "whole." Keep doing what you're doing please. Such a lovely house I hope to visit again sometime. :)
