So a guy walks into a bar, and sitting at a table drinking cocktails are Austin Powers and Frank Lloyd Wright. In walks the waiter (sporting a brightly colored rayon floral shirt) past the ferns and palm trees bringing another round of Mai Tais... Is this an example of shagadelic organic, baby...? P...

Oh, right -- that makes sense, of course. I wonder what the rationale was for doing Vol III first. The most dramatic work, and likely to appeal to the broadest range of those interested in Modern ? SDR Could it be that they made a decision to release Vol 111 first because it included the Guggenheim...

The perimeter of the "prow" is still the same. It might appear to be different in the vintage photo because of the cropping and the vantage point of the camera.

Absolutely, and with the red concrete. I am confident the effect will be stunning, especially when we get around to building the outdoor benches which would continue the already long line of modular benches along the southeast facing window wall. http://sdrdesign.com/Lamb21.jpg http://sdrdesign.com/...

I have a feeling that we will need to do the entire terrace wall since the only thing remaining is the piers between the wood rails, and they are not in good condition. A new slab needs to be poured at the same time, because the terrace floor is now a concrete with a rough gravel aggregate. The Krau...

Paul, it sounds as if you are doing a fine and thorough job. With a house over one hundred years old, there are so many details which just are not in production any more. What an undertaking. My hat's off to you.

I can't wait to see some pictures, though!

The drawings for the "box" that would rest inside the "keep" shown in the photos above: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4430150524_4dd98b9d74_b.jpg There is a recessed octagon cut into the top shelf of the keep where this "box" would rest. Are there any other exampl...

At Fawcett, there is a distinct change of planes at the firebox and the block walls of the house appear to have been painted. In fireplaces where the wall plane continues directly into the firebox, this becomes problematic, (at least we can assume for Mr. Wright...) because not only does the color o...
