Re: Sure, we can call anything "Frank Lloyd Wright"

. . . at very low resolution, on my feed anyway. What an odd use of AI. The narrator's voice is familiar---perhaps an often-used bot ?

Re: For sale: Wright-ian house - (Fairbury, NE)

The maple veneers as used in the kitchen and on bedroom closet doors illustrate(s) the difficulty in staining this wood. Better to have accepted the natural color of the veneers, with the use of a clear coat---or choose another specie, perhaps walnut ?

Re: Article: W. W. Peters' Ascension Lutheran Church (Paradise, Valley, AZ) could be demolished

Some great drone footage there; we see the pentagonal plan of the church and of the spire structure, something difficult if not impossible to appreciate from the ground---and a departure from Wright's habitual geometries. It will be gratifying to see the spire erected elsewhere---how far from where ...

Re: Coda to Hardy House Rehabilitation

A perhaps unique item found in the Hardy file is this largely blank sheet of paper, folded once off-center, and adorned with a penciled note and, at the bottom margin, "1 plan, 1 perspective" in a hand closer to that which (unlike the portion shown here) we recognize as Wright's . . . http...

Re: Coda to Hardy House Rehabilitation

By looking at plans I was able to determine that these are the entrance doors to the house. http://sdrdesign.com/HardyFirstBasementPlans.jpeg There are plans that show these as hinged doors, but the Wasmuth plan includes what appear to be pocket doors---emerging from impossibly narrow exterior walls...

In absorbing that post, be sure not to miss the link to David Romero's take on the matter. Oddly, for starters, both writers refer to the present color as "bright white." Comparing the museum to a building beyond, in the photo, shows it to be something more like a light gray---not unlike t...

Re: Stuart Graff, FLWF CEO steps down

Art Museums around the world offer, in their gift shops and online stores, utilitarian wares and decorative accessories adorned with essentially faithful replicas of art works owned by those institutions. What is seen often includes radical cropping of original images---but the visible outcome is in...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if every suburban ranch house in the country had even a smidgen of the spirit, consistency and richness that most Fay Jones residences have ?

Re: Article: 1953 Exhibition House - NYC, NY

Mr Wisniewski mentions a quarterly, the "Illinois Architectural and Historical Review," in which he says that we'll find at least 13 columns penned by him, with "my drawings of Wright designed buildings." I find random issues of this periodical available online, and it is listed ...

I left a comment below the YouTube video refuting the claim of Wright authorship or association. The comment has been hidden.

Is anyone aware of a list of all of Wright's work, built and unbuilt, arranged by location ?

Re: Price Tower sells off Shinenkan/Goff artifacts under subterfuge

Even the Record is not above the random "typo": "Rising 221 feet above downtown Bartlesville, Price Tower is one of only two high-rises designed by Wright alongside the shorter S.C. Johnson Wax Research Tower in Racine, Wisconsin. (While not technically a skyscraper by modern standard...
