Silk & Morgan-

Congratulations on saving Turkel! Now that it's November, how goes the restoration? Do you have the website up yet? I took my 14yr old past Turkel in May & we both thought it would be a shame if it perished!

Thank you both again for helping out a neglected treasure.

Winn House

Yes, this is the Winn House. It has forced air heat, so less desirable than true Wrightian radiant heat. It is also the least accessible of the Parkwyn homes, as it sets back off the road, just past the Levin home. The area is beautiful & 1 more selling feature should be The Kalamazoo Promise(fr...

FLW roadtrip

If you really do get to layover in Chicago-you need to do the Robie House & Home & Studio in Oak Park. Also, Kalamazoo & Galesburg are about 3 hours E of Chicago, well worth the visit-Parkwyn Village, w/4 Wright homes & The Acres w/4 Wright homes. I dare say you could probable finagl...

I live in Kalamazoo & go through Parkwyn Village almost 3 times a week. The house in question in very Wrightian in nature, but not one of "The Four". You must know that there are a few houses in Parkwyn that are Wrightian in nature, as that is the basis of the development. The house is...

RE:GUEST I realize what Jill was saying was a joke. Also, I was referring to "The Natural House" by Wright-pick it up if you can find a copy,it's a very enlightening read. As for humans not being able to do anything un-natural, I could digress into areas not suited for this site, but let's...

Jill- There are a lot worse things I can think of than being forced to "go Usonian". Try a McMansion w/fries, I mean a Hummer H2 on the side. "I'm not loving it"-if this doesn't get me in trouble w/Ronald McD et al!! To respond to other discussion requests-let's pick a topic-Natu...

PB-

We are all interested in your story. Everyone should have a voice & I truly don't think Jason has any sinister motives to registering onto his website.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Pratt House Book

In response to the discussion on the Pratt House book- True, it's not a very indepth Wright-designing & interaction book, but as Pat stated,it is a first hand account from original owners on their experience w/ a Wright home. A very fine,down-to-Earth & easily understood account. It's also i...
