Interesting concept by FLW to move through covered outdoor space from the living to bedroom areas. This is also seen in the Ralph Jester project as realized by BBP at Taliesin West, maybe others? In warm climates the idea allows a closer relationship to its natural surroundings and can be quite plea...

Could the light-colored panels be radiant heat panels, perhaps added after original construction when it was discovered the house with its high ceilings was too cold in winter?

This fireplace and arrangement reminds me of Fallingwater. Workspace and dining table near the fireplace, a large desk and living space with seating some distance away. Distinct functions within the greater space of living, dining and library perhaps. As suggested earlier, the fireplace serves all.

I remember the Lovness mail box by the road, I think I have a photo if I can find it. I'll look. RG, you may be right about it ending up at auction. I think there was a steel gate from Lovness, removed when they widened the rather long driveway some years ago, being sold on Ebay.

And there is the client. Music store owner Duey Wright, according to Storrer, had perfs abstracted from the rhythm found in Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the home being the Wrights' "Wausau Concerto".

Would it be a more pleasing way to terminate the band of windows, rather than letting them die at the junction of the wall?

Looking through this set of photos, there's the FLLW signature tile on the inside near the entry door, rather than outside. That's different.

To see how FLW organized living space without interior partitions, it is interesting to pull up some simple, small house floor plans from different periods and compare them. For example, compare Fireproof House for $5000, Barton, and the the very late Seth Petersen cottage. Here FLW used essential e...

We visited Rosenbaum last year and thought the little office a couple of steps down from the living room was a wonderful feature. Baird also has an office here. Lusk looks to have a private covered outdoor terrace just off the office with its own long seat and what appears to be shelves? I haven't s...

Thank you. It seems I read that another space was created up there, this one facing the tea circle, for a visit of Hilla Rebay. Is this another separate room from Iovanna's, also accessed by the same narrow stairway? I've looked for a photo of this area but never found one.
